Some families are marked by unresolved conflicts that result in complete estrangement. This is also the case for the Fischermann family. That’s why the youngest family member, grandson Benjamin, decides to investigate why his family is so dysfunctional. What he uncovers clearly shows that World War II and Hitler’s reign of terror still cast long shadows over an otherwise ordinary Danish family in 2019.
